Community Partnerships Create Magic: Helen Haliburton Brings Delta Magic to Rotary

One of the greatest strengths of the Delta is the people who believe in its future and work every day to make it better. Helen Haliburton, Executive Director of the Helena-West Helena Advertising & Promotion Commission, is one of those leaders.
Recently, Helen invited Delta Magic Executive Director Abe Hudson to speak at the Helena Rotary Club about the organization's mission and the collaborative work taking place throughout Phillips County. It was an opportunity to share how Delta Magic is connecting people, strengthening community pride, and building partnerships that help residents and visitors see the best of the Delta.
The Helena-West Helena Advertising & Promotion Commission plays an important role in growing the local economy by investing hotel, motel, and restaurant tax revenues into promoting the city, supporting tourism, enhancing recreational opportunities, and encouraging community development. Through these investments, the commission helps showcase everything that makes Helena-West Helena a destination worth visiting and a community worth calling home.
Helen's invitation reflected a shared belief that meaningful progress happens when organizations work together. Delta Magic's efforts to highlight the positive stories of the Delta align naturally with the Advertising & Promotion Commission's mission to promote the city and celebrate its unique assets.
The Rotary meeting also served as a reminder that lasting community impact begins with service. As members gathered, they recited the
Rotary Prayer for Guidance:
"Heavenly Father, In the midst of our busy lives, we seek your Divine guidance. As Rotarians, we are entrusted with the responsibility to be agents of positive change. Grant us the clarity to discern the needs of our communities and the courage to take action. May your wisdom light our path as we navigate the challenges that lie ahead. Amen."
Those words perfectly capture the spirit of the morning. Leaders from across Helena-West Helena came together not simply to discuss ideas, but to strengthen partnerships that move the community forward.
